Privacy policy

In short: the app has no internet permission and sends nothing anywhere. Everything it stores stays encrypted on your phone. Notification content is not read unless you turn that on, and the archive holds only the notifications you choose to save.

Who we are

The app is developed by Seçkin Çelik in Karabük, Türkiye. Contact: hey@ha-shh.com.

Notification access (required)

The app needs notification access, which you grant in Android settings. To decide what happens to a notification, it uses the app that sent it, the notification type (for example call, alarm or message category) and the time. Titles and message text are not used for this decision.

Notification content (optional)

  • If you turn on Show notification content in Settings, the content of waiting notifications is read only at the moment it is shown to you.
  • If you also turn on keeping content in History, that content is stored encrypted on the phone for one or seven days, as you choose. It is deleted when the period ends or when notification access is turned off.

Notification archive

  • Only the notifications you choose to archive are saved: the app name, title, text and date, plus the folder, amount and due date you add.
  • Nothing enters the archive on its own. Archived items stay encrypted on the phone until you delete them.
  • The suggested amount is calculated on the phone. A due-date reminder uses the phone's own alarm.
  • Adding an archive item to your calendar opens your own calendar app with an event filled in: the notification title (or the app name if there is no title) as the event name and the due date as an all-day date. You see it there, can change it and choose whether to save it. The app does not need calendar permission for this. If your calendar syncs with an account (for example Google), the saved event goes to that account; that is done by your calendar app, and ha!shh sends nothing.

Fingerprint lock

The lock uses Android's own biometric prompt. Your fingerprint or face data never reaches the app; the app only learns whether unlocking succeeded.

Other permissions

  • Posting notifications: to deliver held notifications and reminders.
  • Starting after reboot: to restore your rules and reminders after the phone restarts.
  • Calendar (optional): only the start and end times and busy status of events are read, to switch modes during meetings. Event titles are not read.
  • Bluetooth (optional): to switch modes when the phone connects to your car. The raw device address is not stored; only a one-way fingerprint and the device name you see are kept, encrypted.

Your installed apps

To sort your apps into groups and show them in the rule lists, the app reads the list of installed apps that appear on your home screen (app name, package name and the type Android reports). This happens only on the phone and uses no extra permission. The quiet summary is the app's own silent notification; it shows only app names and counts, never notification content.

No network, no tracking

The app has no internet permission. There are no servers, accounts, ads, analytics or crash reporting tools. No data from the app reaches the developer or anyone else.

Feedback by email

If you use Send feedback in Settings, your own email app opens with a prepared message. You write and send it yourself. Device information (manufacturer, model, Android version, app version) is added only if you tick that option. The email travels through your email provider. Notification content and your rules are never added. If you send the message, the developer sees your email address and uses it only to reply to you. Messages received at hey@ha-shh.com are used only to reply to you and improve the app, and are not shared with third parties.

Export and backup

You can save a backup of your rules and modes as a file. It includes mode names, hidden built-in modes and, for each mode, the apps, groups and categories that come through right away. You can also export your notification records (app, time and what was done). Neither file contains notification content, and the archive is not included. The file goes only to the app or folder you select. Android cloud backup is turned off for this app.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app deletes all of its data from the phone. You can also delete archive items and clear history inside the app.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes how it handles data, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
